I got smashed the hell up on Friday night... so much so that I haven't even THOUGHT about having something to drink since. I'm thinking about laying off the liquid confidence for a few weeks because it was just that bad. (FWIW, I should listen to Joe when he says I should lay off the 7&7s).
But back to your regularly scheduled programming...
Saw "Hancock" last Thursday and was pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty sure it's been getting some terrible reviews, but I didn't have too many problems with it. I luuuuuuuuurve Will Smith (I mean srsly, Men In Black!!!!!! LOVE THE BUGMAN!) and Charlize Theron and Jason Goddamn Bateman and I love the concept of drunk, fucked-up superhero. The only part I really didn't enjoy was the climax of the movie - when Smith's and Theron's characters go head to head in an epic battle of "Who Can Throw the Most City Shit Around RARRRR RARRRR WE'RE SUPERHEROES."
That's probably the part I was supposed to like best, amirite?
Continuing on with movies - I am INCREDIBLY excited for "Mamma Mia." I'm a sucker for Broadway-cum-silver screen flicks (like "Rent" and "Phantom of the Opera") and I'm also a sucker for ABBA (there, I said it). I saw "Mamma Mia" in Toronto and loved every second of it - the concept, the music, THE DANCING. The movie has apparently leaked to the interwebz and I'm debating watching it but I'm probably going to hold out 'til I can see it for real - by myself, of course.
Back to the pits... at least I have Friday off (for DARIEN LAKE)!
