THIS POST IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY TUESDAY MORNING SNARK (because I was not in the mood for posting on Friday...)
1) HOW ABOUT THOSE RAYS?? I can only hope that they can stick it to the Phils... the Rays were exceptionally finicky in the ALCS and they need to hold it together against the likes of Victorino, Utley, Rollins, etc... I gotta believe... but I don't know if I can.
2) Saw the movie "W." While parts were incredibly funny, like the depiction of Condi Rice (SO. FUCKING. AWESOME.), the movie in-and-of itself was way too long... over two hours. I like that the movie brought to light the trials and tribulations between Bush Sr. and Jr. - it really shed some light on WHY Bush acts the way he does (I don't know for a fact that the differences between Sr. and Jr. are correct, but it did stand to reason that they are). I don't think the movie was too terribly scathing - it was done in a humorous light and paints Bush as the guy next door... but apparently some people thought otherwise (http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/10/20/tv.anchor.attack.ap/index.html?iref=mpstoryview).
3) Ralph Nader. I saw him speak on Friday to a group of ~100 Syracusans... What to say, what to say. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I share a lot of his ideas and I do like that he stands up against the bipartisanship of the election. However, I do NOT like his stance on war (namely, "get the troops the fuck out ASAP" because while that would be a pleasant dream, the reality is such that it CAN'T happen) and I REALLY did not like that he had his flunky come out on stage and beg money out of his supporters. I understand that he gets very little funding from organizations and has to raise his own dollars, but catcalling out an audience whom he called "lower class citizens who need a say" to beg for $2300 (apparently the maximum you can donate) is uncalled for and completely tacky. We had the chance to donate on our way in and our way out... hearing your submissive buttboy plead for funds is classless. OH BUT IF YOU DONATED $100 YOU COULD GET A FREE DVD! ...Great, I can buy that at Borders for $10...
I don't honestly know if all political rallies are like this. I do commend Nader for coming to an area that doesn't often see the light of day from other politicians, but I'm going to harbor a guess that neither Obama NOR McCain would have been passing the proverbial bucket around.
...Now, if Nader had passed around a joint, maybe it would have been a different story...
4) I made my bunny a new cage. A big one. With windows. I forgot though that bunny is a powerhouse and making windows out of cardboard was not a good idea because she simply plowed right through them. At least she understands how to use her litterbox!
Nothing really to write about lately. I'd love a nap, but I'm working 'til 3 then going shopping for "Everything's Coming Up Roses" with Sarah =D YAY NEW DRESSES THAT I DON'T NEED!
