i am not that girl who used to sing in church

I think the interwebs are against me today (and I almost just wrote "against" as again'st, which makes me think the English language is hatin' me as well). The computers are running really slow and I keep clicking on links and it says "INTERWEBZ R MAD TRY UHGEN L8R" and I get angry and whiny.

But the real reason I think they're against me is that I can't find a darn thing about the book "I, A Woman" by Agnethe Thomsen (pen name Siv Holm). I can find a little more about the movie reproduction - which is to say I found an Amazon review and one other website that mentions the plot. SERIOUSLY THOUGH. I understand that the author - and subsequently the book - are Swedish, but it's such a controversial and astounding novel and I can't fathom why I'm only getting 3 search results from Google.

**Goes to Dogpile** Nothing.

**Goes to Wikipedia** NOTHING (Except an entry for Siv Holma, a left-wing politician from Sweden... at least they're getting the country right?)

Oh well.

I got the book from Johnny, who sent it all the way from Tacoma with a lovely scarf he knitted and an apron he sewed, and was excited because A) I love to read and B) I've never heard of the book before. It's a quick read - I feel like much might be lost in translation, but I CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT THANKS TO THE DUMB INTERNET - but I'm absolutely falling for this book. It's about a girl (named Siv, appropriately) who grew up in a fundamental Christian household, was engaged at 15, goes away to be a nurse and loses her virginity to one of her patients, which spirals into her becoming "a skank" (just because I like that word) and not believing in God. Oh, it's soooo my type of book.

I need to get my hands on a copy of the movie though. Produced in 1966 (I believe... THANKS AGAIN INTERNET), it's in black and white and usually I wouldn't go for such thing, but I can't NOT watch it. Especially since it may shed some more light on this great book.

But, of course, Blockbuster gives me nothing. Seems that there are 3 copies available on Amazon... AND THEY START AT $134.99 @$IU@#LJ$SLDKJFLK@J#$@LJ#$.

Oh, I won't give up.
